Meet Tammy Behind The Vision

Blessings to you!

My name is Tammy, the woman behind The Struggling Christian and LADAITT. LADAITT stands for “Life And Death Are In The Tongue,” inspired by my favorite scripture, Proverbs 18:21.

I started this company because I heard the calling. But my journey to Jesus wasn’t a straight road.

For much of my life, I felt lost. I loved God and Jesus, but something about the religion I grew up in didn’t feel right. I knew God was there, but I didn’t know how to reach Him.

I had a painful childhood. I struggled with anger, got into fights, and later became addicted to drugs. I had two wonderful children, went through a divorce, and entered rehab.

Recovery was a beginning. I became a welder, went to commercial diving school, and worked in underwater construction. I remarried, but inside, I was still broken.

In September 2019, during a difficult time in my marriage, I hit rock bottom emotionally. I hadn’t returned to drugs, but I was hurting so badly that one Wednesday, I fainted at work.

That night, I looked out my window at the little church across the street. I heard a loud voice: “GO!”

So I went.

The cleaning lady was there. I broke down crying to this stranger, and she invited me to church that Sunday.

When I walked into that church, I felt broken beyond repair. But the people welcomed me with humility, love, and kindness. I kept coming back.

They suggested something simple: start each morning by saying, “Good morning, Jesus. I love You, Jesus.”

I did. I began reading His Word every morning and every night. Slowly, I could feel Him healing my brokenness and changing my thinking.

That October, I gave my life to Jesus and was baptized in His Holy Spirit. I loved my life.

Then came a new question: How could I honor Jesus and serve Him?

I’ve always had quirky sayings, sometimes funny ones. But in February 2020, one stayed with me:

“God will let you fall, until you let HIM have it ALL.”

I shared it everywhere, wondering why it mattered so much.

A few months later, during a conversation on social media, I said, “God doesn’t tell you to put on the armor of God to bake a cake.”

Someone loved it and told me that if I ever put it on a T-shirt, she wanted one in pink and purple.

That’s how this started.

My husband eventually began attending church too. God restored our marriage.

This business became a way for me to share the sayings placed on my heart, and a way for others to share their faith through what they wear.

I’m still walking this journey. Not perfect. Not finished. Still trusting Jesus, one step at a time.

May God bless you.
